When Jessica reached out about taking Jaxon’s 1 year photos and family portraits, I got so excited! I took her maternity pictures and newborn pictures of Jaxon, so I was ready to see him again! We beat the evening thunderstorm, and skated around a wedding and Prom pictures to grab these adorable family portraits!
I tend to take a slightly different approach to family pictures with small children. I usually try to have mom and dad interact with their children and then I can capture some candid cuteness! In between the normal talking and hanging out, we get some of everyone looking at the camera! I learned very quickly when I started taking pictures that you can’t control little kids! Which is the best part because the moments that you do capture are usually candid and them being their cutest!
Jaxon did such a great job in front of the camera and is just SO DANG ADORABLE! And his mom and dad looked SO good. I absolutely loved the way that Jess & Brad coordinated. When she got out of the car I was like okay, I LOVE that dress…and then she took a few steps and I was like okay, I LOVE those shoes!?! I’ll be channeling her style from here on out. (PS, Jess is my former high school math teacher (my FAV) and it’s taken me to this point to be okay with calling her by her first name..old habits die reaaal hard, haha.)
