When Nicole sent me a message about photographing her wedding, I was instantly in love with her venue (and adored her because she is seriously SO sweet). I knew from skimming her Instagram, that she had an eye for design and decor, so I couldn’t wait to see what she had up her sleeve for her wedding day. Walking into their day was like walking into a photographer’s dream.
The McCann School of Art took my breath away as soon as I got out of the car and started walking around. Hidden in the mountain and woods, this not so little piece of property has an Art Gallery, private little lodges, studio spaces, and a perfect pavilion. Oh, and there are ferns. Ferns GALORE. Nicole kept their details pretty, simple, and elegant and she did almost all of it herself.
After a beautiful intimate ceremony in the gardens area, I took Nicole and Matthew down to the stream behind the little bride and groom cottage for some portraits. These ended up being some of my favorite! They didn’t even hesitate to jump right on into the water and have some fun. Something different that they chose to do was to have their first dance outside next to their ceremony location in the garden. A beautiful sculpture of two people dancing stood in the background and a string quartet played away as everyone enjoyed the moment.
Nicole definitely wanted lots of gorgeous images from their day, so we had a large chunk of the day to spend exploring and taking bride and groom portraits! Everything about this day was beautiful and I truly enjoyed being able to spend so much time with Nicole and Matthew!
